Privacy notice

What this site does and does not collect, how any analytics are handled, and how external links are treated.

Abstract padlock and shield representing data privacy

This is a static reference website. It publishes editorial explanations and does not run accounts, comment threads, contact forms or any other feature that would ask a visitor to hand over personal information. As a result there is very little data involved in reading it, and this notice sets out plainly what is and is not collected, why, and how long anything is kept. It is written to be understood without legal training, and it covers this website only.

What the site collects

No personal data is collected directly through this site. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to submit and no profile to create, so the site does not build or store records about the people who read it. It sets no advertising trackers and no third-party marketing cookies, and it does not sell, rent or share visitor information with advertisers or data brokers — there is no such information to share in the first place. Pages are delivered as static files.

Cookies

The site does not depend on cookies to function. It sets no marketing or advertising cookies and does not use cookies to follow a visitor from one website to another. Where a browser stores anything at all, it is limited to what is strictly necessary to display pages correctly, and a visitor can clear or block cookies through their browser settings without losing the ability to read the reference.

Server logs and hosting

Like almost any website, the hosting server may record standard technical information when a page is requested — for example an IP address, the time of the request, the page that was served and the browser’s user-agent string. These logs exist for security, troubleshooting and the basic operation of the server; they are not used to identify individual readers, to build profiles or for marketing, and they are retained only for as long as they are useful for those operational purposes before being rotated or deleted. The hosting provider processes this limited technical data on the site’s behalf.

Analytics

If privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics are enabled, they record only aggregate, anonymous usage — such as which pages are viewed and roughly how often — without identifying individual visitors, setting tracking cookies or building advertising profiles. Any such measurement is used only to understand which explanations readers find useful, and the resulting data is never sold or shared for advertising.

External links and embedded content

The reference links out to third parties such as regulators’ public registers and accredited testing laboratories, so that readers can verify information at its source. Those websites operate under their own privacy policies, which this notice does not cover; a visitor who follows an external link is subject to the practices of the destination site. The pages here do not embed third-party media or widgets that would track a reader in the background.

Children

The subject matter concerns gambling technology and licensing and is intended for an adult audience. The site is not directed at children, does not knowingly collect information from them, and in any case holds no personal data of any visitor regardless of age.

Your rights and questions

Because the site holds no personal data about its readers and sets no marketing cookies, in most cases there is simply nothing to access, correct or erase. Where the server logs described above are concerned, the hosting provider acts as the processor and the standard data-protection rights apply to that limited technical data. A visitor who wants to minimise even that footprint can browse using privacy tools or clear their browser data at any time.

Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated if the way the site operates changes — for example if a contact form or a new analytics tool were ever added. Any revision is published on this page, and the version shown here is the one that currently applies.
